The Côte d’Azur is a marine jewel that we are lucky enough to sail around every day. But this fragile beauty deserves our full attention. At Aqua d’Aia, we’re committed to environmentally-friendly sailing, and we invite every yachtsman to adopt simple but essential gestures to protect our coastline.
Go for eco-friendly mooring buoys
Posidonia meadows, the real “lungs” of the Mediterranean, are severely damaged by anchors dropped directly onto the seabed. Whenever possible, use the organized anchorage areas or ecological buoys available in many creeks and bays.
Don’t throw anything overboard
Even the smallest items of garbage have an impact. Plastics, cigarette butts and other detritus take years to degrade and harm marine fauna. A garbage bag on board is all you need to bring everything ashore.
Manage your wastewater with care
Discharge into the sea is prohibited near the coast. Our yachts are equipped with black water tanks, so remember to empty them at the pumping stations provided in the harbors.
Respect marine life
Observe dolphins, sunfish and other wonders of the Mediterranean… from a distance! Don’t chase them, don’t feed them, and avoid marked breeding or resting areas.
Get the facts before you go
Weather, protected areas, local regulations: good preparation is the key to safe and responsible sailing. Our team will provide you with an up-to-date map and the necessary advice at the start of each trip.
Our commitment
As professionals of the sea, we have a responsibility. That’s why Aqua d’Aia takes part in local awareness-raising campaigns, helps clean up the coves and trains every customer in these good practices before they leave.
Together, let’s preserve our Mediterranean for future generations.
