What destinations does the Méfi sailboat cover?

We sail along the entire French Riviera. Departing from Nice, we visit the Principality of Monaco, the famous bays of Saint-Tropez, and the Îles du Levant and Îles d’Hyères. Each itinerary can be tailored to your preferences and weather conditions.

What is the ideal rental period?

We offer day trips to explore the area around Nice, but we recommend a 3- to 7-day cruise to fully enjoy destinations such as Saint-Tropez or the Îles d’Or.

Who are the crew members of Aqua d’Aïa?

You’ll be accompanied by a team of sailing professionals. We handle all the technical aspects: boat maintenance, navigation, safety, and port management. Our local knowledge allows us to take you to hidden coves off the beaten path

Le voilier Méfi est-il adapté aux enfants?

Yes ! As a family-run business, we are happy to welcome children. We tailor the boat tour to their comfort and provide age-appropriate life jackets. It’s an educational and magical experience for the little ones.

What should we pack for the cruise?

Privilégiez des sacs souples (les valises rigides sont difficiles à ranger à bord). Prévoyez une protection solaire respectueuse des océans, un coupe-vent, des chaussures à semelles blanches non marquantes et, bien sûr, votre maillot de bain !

What does your approach to sustainable development entail?

Protecting the Mediterranean is our top priority. We encourage sailing to minimize the use of engines, use biodegradable cleaning products, and practice strict waste management on board. We also educate our passengers about the importance of protecting marine life.

What’s included in the rental rate?

The rate includes the use of the fully equipped Méfi sailboat and the services of your professional crew. Variable expenses (provisions, fuel, and port fees outside the home port) are generally pooled into a “board fund” managed with full transparency.

Do you need to know how to sail to get on board?

No experience is necessary. You can choose to simply relax or, if you’d like, learn the basics of sailing with us. We’re happy to share our passion for sailing with you.

How do you maintain and manage the boat?

This is our core business. Before and during your cruise, our family handles the meticulous maintenance and technical logistics of the sailboat. You’ll enjoy a boat that’s ready to sail, safe, and spotlessly clean—without having to worry about any technical details.

What happens if the weather is bad?

As experts in the area from Monaco to Marseille, we monitor weather reports around the clock. If conditions do not allow for safe sailing, we will suggest a sheltered alternative route or, if necessary, reschedule the trip. Your safety is our top priority.

Is the Méfi prone to causing seasickness?

The sailboat is stable, but if you’re prone to seasickness, we recommend bringing along some mild medication or natural remedies (ginger, acupressure wristbands). Once we’re underway and out in the open air, the seasickness goes away very quickly!

What activities are available on the cruise?

Beyond just cruising, we focus on exploration. During our stops between Nice and the Levant Islands, you can enjoy swimming in the open sea, stand-up paddleboarding, or simply relaxing on the deck of the Méfi. For those who are curious, we’re happy to share our knowledge of the local marine life.

Do you provide snorkeling gear?

Absolutely. We provide masks and snorkels so you can explore the Mediterranean seabed. We know the best unspoiled spots, especially near the Îles d’Or, where the biodiversity is exceptional.

How are meals organized on board the Aqua d’Aïa?

We prioritize a local and sustainable approach. For multi-day trips, we handle the provisions and cooking, and invite you to discover the local cuisine. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced locally from the Nice area and its surroundings. For day trips, you can bring your own picnic or have lunch at a beach restaurant.

Is it possible to go ashore to visit the Lérins Islands or Saint-Tropez?

Of course! Depending on our itinerary, we arrange transfers by tender so you can visit the Monastery of Sainte-Honorat, stroll around the port of Saint-Tropez, or have lunch ashore if you’d like.

Where is the meeting point for boarding?

The main departure point for multi-day cruises is the port of Beaulieu, which is the sailboat’s home port. Other boarding locations are available for day cruises, depending on your plans: Monaco, Nice, or St. Jean Cap-Ferrat.

Is it possible to rent the Méfi sailboat for just one day?

Yes, we offer day trips to explore the coastline of Nice and the surrounding bays. It’s the perfect way to experience the Mediterranean for the first time or to celebrate a private event with a small group alongside our crew.

Is fuel included in the rental price?

For complete transparency, fuel costs are generally calculated based on your actual consumption at the end of the cruise and settled using the APA (a cash deposit for incidental expenses, fully refundable if unused). For daily rentals, fuel is included in your rental fee unless otherwise requested. Please note that by prioritizing sailing on the Méfi, we not only reduce our environmental impact but also your fuel costs.

Do you have private cabins and bathrooms on board?

Absolutely. The Méfi sailboat is designed to ensure your comfort and privacy. It features four spacious cabins, each with its own bathroom and toilet, and a cozy saloon for dining. Since one cabin is reserved for the crew, children can sleep in the convertible saloon for short cruises. Regular maintenance performed by our family ensures impeccable cleanliness.

Can I charge my electronic devices (phones, cameras)?

Yes, the boat is equipped to charge your devices using a 12-volt power supply. However, we encourage you to use energy on board wisely, as it is generated in part through environmentally friendly solutions, in keeping with our commitment to sustainable sailing.

Why choose Aqua d’Aïa over a traditional rental platform?

When you choose Aqua d’Aïa, you’re choosing a single, family-run point of contact. Unlike impersonal platforms, we are both the owners and the crew. We handle every detail of your trip, from contract management to safety at sea, ensuring a personal and authentic Mediterranean cruise.
